The aim of the Newcastle Film Society’s Privacy Policy is to protect its members’ personal information and to promote confidence in the way it is managed.
The Privacy Policy outlines how its members’ details will be used and protected.
What information is collected?
When joining the NFS you are asked to provide your full name, postal address, email address and mobile number.
This information is then collated and stored on the NFS membership data base and provides us with the number of financial members for the current screening year.
This information will also be used for membership ID (identification) for when we commence online membership registration and verification.
How is your information used?
The NFS will only use your personal information in the following situations;
you will only receive information that is specific to the NFS or film related matters that we feel may interest you.
to contact you regarding membership issues.
advise you of any film changes to the program or the announcement of the Mystery Film.
if there are any special events such as a guest speaker or fund- raising event.
inform you of the Annual General Meeting (AGM).
to promote Film Festivals such as the French Film Festival, French Fridays, Travelling Film Festival, Newcastle Italian Film Festival or other festivals we feel that would interest members.
advise you of any compliance information relating to Event Cinema or Government regulation that is in the interest and safety of its members such as COVID requirements etc.
How long is your personal information kept?
All current members’ personal information will be held over to the following year when they will be offered to rejoin the new film season.
Members have the option to 'opt out' of receiving any communication at anytime.
Members who do not renew will no longer be considered a current member and will not remain on our database, however, these members can still elect to receive film society news.
Keeping your information Protected and Private:
Members’ details will be carefully protected from theft and loss.
Members’ details held by the NFS will not be given or sold to a third party.
